Hurricane Season Is Here...
Are You Ready?

SC Safe Home Exceeds Expectations

Applications Close

The SC Safe Home program has been successful in strengthening homes against the severe winds associated with hurricanes and wind events.  The program has awarded more than 700 grants to qualifying applicants.  Although we are not processing applications at this time, we are continuing to serve those homeowners that were previously awarded through the program.

The SC Safe Home program continues to seek additional funds through public and private contributions and anticipates another round of funding next fiscal year to begin July 1, 2009.

What Can A Homeowner Do?

Homeowners can continue to pay $150 for a Uniform Inspection Report and assessment of their home. Premium discounts and tax credits may be available for specific retrofits.  For more information please visit http://doi.sc.gov/consumer/coastal.htm and view "State Income Tax Credit for Fortification Measures."
